Executive Management Team
Steve Purello, Chief Executive Officer
Steve Purello was appointed to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Workstream Inc.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Purello served as General Manager of the
Company's Career Networks business since January 2005. In November 2006,
Mr. Purello also became responsible for managing the Company's Rewards and Recognition
business. From 2003 to date, Mr. Purello has served as General Manager of the
Company's 6FigureJobs subsidiary
Michael Gioja, CIO, Executive Vice President of Products and Services
Michael Gioja is responsible for managing Workstream's Research
and Development team, data center operations and day-to-day technology
and operational activities. Mr. Gioja has served in senior management
positions at privately held HR software firms such as Workscape,
Inc., BrassRing LLC and Fidelity Investments as well as at publicly
traded firms including IBM, American Express, SAP AG and PeopleSoft,
now Oracle Corporation. While at SAP, Mr. Gioja had global responsibility
for worldwide development in Waldorf and all localizations and
was responsible for bringing SAP to the short list for global
HR. While at PeopleSoft, Mr. Gioja reported directly to the CEO,
and managed a global development organization of over 2,000 employees
that successfully built the PeopleSoft 8.0 platform across all
customers and product lines. Mr. Gioja holds a Bachelor degree
in Computer Science from the State University of Oswego and is
considered by many in the HR and technology community as one
of the top in his field of technology integration and emerging
technologies.
Jay Markell, Chief Financial Officer
Jay Markell was appointed to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Markell had served as Controller of Workstream since
joining in April 2007. From January 2006 until joining the Company, Mr. Markell
served as Controller of Data2Logistics, a privately-held freight payment company.
Prior to joining Data2Logistics, from September 2002 until January 2006
Mr. Markell was Controller of PsiloQuest, a ventured backed start-up CMP pad
manufacturing company.
Ginger Simpson, Vice President of Human Resources
As Workstream's Vice President of Human Resources, Ginger is the catalyst for organizational
effectiveness. She leverages all the Human Resource efforts for Workstream's competitive
advantage. She has the crucial responsibility of harnessing the company's intellectual
capital through open communication, employee recognition and maintaining a culture of
competence and collaboration.
Prior to joining Workstream in August 2006 as Director of HR, Ginger spent 10 years
with FedEx as an HR professional in the field at FedEx Express and FedEx Ground.
She is also a retired Navy Master Chief, where her last position was the Director,
of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, in Newport, Rhode Island. Ginger also served
for three years as the Chairwoman of the Equality Management Committee for Defense Advisory
Committee on Women in the Services for the Department of Defense.
Ginger is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Vice President
of the Executive Women's Golf Association - Orlando Chapter. She earned her Bachelor's
Degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in Workforce Education and Development
and Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from
Webster University in St. Louis, MO
Scott Pruitt, Senior Vice President of Sales
As Senior Vice President of Sales, Mr. Pruitt is responsible for Workstream's
worldwide sales and account management team. Scott joined Workstream in 2007 as
Regional Vice-President, building a world-class sales team servicing the Enterprise market.
Prior to joining Workstream, Scott managed the leading sales team within IBM's Applications
on Demand business unit. This division moved traditional ERP systems to a Software as a
Service (SaaS) deployment model as most Talent Management systems are delivered today.
Prior to IBM, Mr. Pruitt spent 5 years at PeopleSoft managing regional sales,
field marketing and business development initiating the launch of PeopleSoft eCenter.
This start-up business unit moved PeopleSoft applications into the Software as a
Service (SaaS) model and was the original HR application delivered as a service,
changing the financial model to user based license, support and hosting fees.
Scott's leadership encompasses over 19 years of experience in sales and account
management for start-ups as well as Fortune 50 organizations.
Jennifer Saul, Vice President Professional Services
Jennifer Saul joined Workstream in 2004 and is responsible for all Workstream deployments
including implementations and upgrades of all applications across the TalentCenter suite.
Ms. Saul has served in human resources technology management with Oracle Corporation,
ADP National Accounts Division, and Sun Microsystems and within the consulting arena
with KPMG Consulting and the Hunter Group. Ms. Saul holds a Bachelors degree in
Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
